COVID-19-ën dhe të drejtat e mbrojtura nga Konventa Evropiane për të Drejtat e Njeriut.

Forumi i këtij viti, i cili do të organizohet në 16-17 tetor, do të mbledhë së bashku përfaqësuesit e Gjykatës Evropiane të të Drejtave të Njeriut, Këshillit të Evropës dhe institucioneve gjyqësore të shtatë vendeve të Evropës Juglindore, të cilët do të diskutojnë mbi COVID-19-ën dhe të drejtat e mbrojtura nga Konventa Evropiane për të Drejtat e Njeriut.

Pandemia COVID-19 është një nga krizat më të mëdha globale që nga Lufta e Dytë Botërore. Qeveritë në mbarë botën u detyruan të marrin masa për të kufizuar rreziqet mbi jetën dhe shëndetin e njerëzve. Megjithatë, mbyllja e gjykatave, shkollave, institucioneve fetare dhe mjediseve të kateringut ngriti çështje në lidhje me të drejtën për gjykim të drejtë, arsimim, lirinë e fesë dhe gëzimin paqësor të pronave, ndërsa kufizimet e lëvizjes dhe mbledhjes ndërhynë në të drejtat e lirisë të lëvizjes, shprehjes, mbledhjes dhe zgjedhjeve të lira. Forumi do t’u japë profesionistëve më të shquar evropianë të së drejtës mundësinë për të diskutuar kërcënimet ndaj të drejtave të njeriut të shfaqura gjatë pandemisë dhe për të ofruar zgjidhje për këto sfida.

Forumi organizohet nga Programi i Qendrës AIRE për Ballkanin Perëndimor dhe Mbrojtësit e të Drejtave Civile (Civil Rights Defenders), me mbështetjen e qeverive britanike dhe suedeze, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung dhe Ministrisë së Jashtme holandeze.

Në konferencën qendrore, e cila do të mbahet në Strasburg, do të marrë pjesë Presidenti i Gjykatës Evropiane për të Drejtat e Njeriut, Robert Spano, gjyqtarë aktualë dhe ish-gjyqtarë të kësaj Gjykate dhe Komisionerja e Këshillit të Evropës për të Drejtat e Njeriut, Dunja Mijatović.

Pjesëmarrësit në pesë sesionet e forumit do të kenë mundësi të diskutojnë mbi të drejtat e KEDNJ-së të prekura nga pandemia, mbrojtjen e këtyre të drejtave dhe situatën në Ballkanin Perëndimor.
